Welcome

This website is focussed on Mastihari (also spelt Mastichari and Μαστιχαρι) on the island of Kos, in the Greek Dodecanese Islands.

It is centred around what many regard as “the heart of Mastihari”. The “heart” comprises mainly small-to-medium sized family businesses. It stretches inland from the harbour at its northern end, borders a corridor centred on the road to Antimachea to the south, and the beach and sea to the west.

This site is likely to be most useful to semi-independent travellers who value the qualities of pension-style accommodation over that offered by “corporate style” hotels and “all-inclusive” packages. To this end the bulletin board is a core feature and the main communication channel for matters relating to this site.

Kind regards,

Chris - site author and fan of Mastihari
